We’re thrilled to announce that Locked Achievements—our youth-led visual art and poetry exhibit—is now on display at Curt’s Café in Evanston! This marks the first official stop on the Locked Achievements Tour, and the work will be featured throughout the month.
What makes this moment even more meaningful is that two of our students—now employed at Curt’s Café—have their artwork proudly displayed on the very walls where they work. To see their creativity uplifted in a space rooted in growth and second chances is powerful beyond words.
Curt’s Café has long been committed to providing meaningful employment and mentorship to young adults facing significant life challenges. Their mission aligns deeply with our work at Stomping Grounds Literary Arts Initiative, and we’re honored to collaborate in this way.
If you're in the Evanston area, stop by to grab a bite and experience this collection of bold, emotional, and reflective artwork created by youth voices that deserve to be seen and heard.
This is just the beginning. Locked Achievements is on the move—and we’ll be sharing more stops soon.

With gratitude,The SGLAI Team
