Nitya Mehrotra

Marketing Consultant

Bio: Nitya is a filmmaker and community artist whose work centers on amplifying voices that rarely get heard, through animation, documentary, and public art. She is the founder of Stories by Strangers, a global storytelling platform that has reached 3 million viewers across 40+ countries by transforming survivor testimonies into collaboratively made 2D animated films. In 2024, she led a citywide public art project on the Chicago Transit Authority in partnership with local youth, covered by the New York Times, CBS, and Time Out. Her short films have screened at Oscar-qualifying festivals, and her work has been supported by institutions including the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. This foundation shapes her approach to nonprofit marketing and fundraising. Nitya brings a storyteller's instinct to strategy, helping organizations that work with communities, youth, and animals build the kind of authentic narrative that moves people to give, volunteer, and stay. She understands what it takes to earn trust from audiences who have been overlooked, and she uses that understanding to help nonprofits communicate with clarity, urgency, and heart.
