Nate Olison

Nate Olison began his teaching artist career in 2010, coaching the Westinghouse College Prep slam team for four years, where he discovered his passion for empowering youth to find their voices. Since then, he has worked as a mentor, advocate, and coach, impacting hundreds of students across Chicago.In 2020, Nate founded Optimist Comics to combine his love for art, storytelling, and youth work. With the belief that art changes lives and stories connect communities, he is dedicated to creating meaningful narratives and helping others share their own.
