Audio / Music Production

Elgin Bokari Smith facilitates music production sessions in which youth bring in works in progress. We co-create an instrumental that fits the track's texts, record their verses in raw, first draft form, and then adjust their language to create

a version appropriate for general audiences, aka a “radio edit.” Once music is completed and approved by the juvenile facility, the songs are mixed by a professional recording artist to bring back to the youth so their music can be distributed and shared with family and friends at a professional production level.
