What Is Pocket Con

Event Overview: Pocket Con is Chicago’s premier comic book convention that celebrates characters and creators of color, offering a unique, inclusive space for fans, creators, and learners. Join us live at the Harold Washington Library on Saturday, December 7, 2024, from 11 AM to 5 PM, for a day filled with creativity, fun, and inspiration. The event is free and open to all ages!

• Comic Vendors showcasing diverse and unique works

• Game Rooms filled with exciting and interactive experiences

• Live Performances and demonstrations from talented artists

• Panel Discussions with creators and industry professionals

• Contests with exciting prizes

Group Registration: Educators and group leaders are encouraged to bring students to this dynamic event. Group registration ensures your students will have the opportunity to explore the convention and participate in activities. Please see the link below for group registration details.

Volunteer Opportunities: Pocket Con thrives on community support, and we welcome volunteers to assist with various aspects of the event. It’s a wonderful opportunity for anyone who wants to contribute to the success of this vibrant space.

Volunteer with Stomping Ground's Literary Arts Initiative (SGLAI): We are also collaborating with the Stomping Ground's Literary Arts Initiative (SGLAI), an organization dedicated to providing incarcerated and criminalized youth with immersive experiences in visual, literary, and musical arts. SGLAI mentors youth through creative outlets, building resilience, self-determination, and practical skills.
