Accountability Statement
At Stomping Grounds, we prioritize the safety and well-being of the youth we serve. No staff member or literary/arts mentor will be permitted to participate in our programs without a thorough understanding of the values and unique dynamics of our service environments. This includes completing rigorous, mandated training and passing comprehensive screenings, including community background checks.

We recognize that background checks may not always reflect the full scope of someone’s history, particularly in cases where no formal conviction has been made. To ensure the safety of everyone involved, we are committed to conducting diligent investigations beyond standard checks. While we acknowledge that no space can ever be completely free of harm, we are dedicated to continuously improving the quality and safety of our spaces.
If harm does occur in any of our environments, we will take immediate action. Perpetrators will be promptly removed, and we will work closely with survivors to support them in their healing journey, ensuring that this support is based on consent and respect for their needs.

The youth we serve are invaluable, and they deserve safe, high-quality experiences that foster growth. We are committed to adapting, persevering, and upholding these standards as we work towards maintaining safe, nurturing spaces for all.
